Ruby Gaynell Maness Ritter, 91, died Monday, October 11, 2021 at FirstHealth Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

Nell was born May 28, 1930.  She was a homemaker and poultry farmer.  She enjoyed caring for her home, the farm, her animals and growing vegetables, to share with others. Her table was always a place of wonderful meals, that she loved to share with others. Nell liked to read and complete word puzzles.  She loved the Lord, her church and listening to bluegrass gospel music. Nell loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren. She was a daughter of the late Teddy Mitchell and Rosa Ritter Maness and was preceded in death by husband Grover Ritter; brothers: Kelly Maness, Monroe Maness, Lloyd Maness, J. L. Maness, Archie Maness.  

Nell is survived by sons: Bernie Ritter, Kenny Ritter and wife Sherry; grandchildren: Jacob Ritter and wife Danielle, Brook Crump and husband Matt, Cassie Manuel and husband Greg, Hayley Hare and husband Nathan; great grandchildren: Mason, Bailey, Lincoln, Taylor, Memphis; and expecting two more great-grandchildren; siblings: Audie Maness, Alene Myrick; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday October 14, 2021  at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the  Reverend Dr. Jerome Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, Kenny.

Memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC. 

Kennedy Funeral Home is serving the Ritter family.
