Ruth Shepherd Sullivan, age 68 of Carthage went home to be with Jesus on Monday,   March 19, 2018.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Pastor John Stinnett officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

A native of Richmond County she was a daughter of the late   Ralph and Frances Shepherd.

 

Ruth was devoted to Jesus and was a witness to all she met.  We will never forget to thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful Christian mother.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert L. Sullivan; brother, Ralph and sister, Lib.

 

Ruth is survived by her children, Frances Callicutt  and husband James, Helen Games and husband John all of Carthage, Kellie Sullivan of FL; sisters, Betty Jean Talley, Bobby Lewis, Faye Lynthacum, Mildred Brady, Alma Banks & Carol Smith; grandchildren, Jordan Rouse, Rachel Callicutt, Sara Games, Ariana Bosworth, Whitney Games, Jesse Games and special granddaughter, Samantha Cockman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Special thanks to all those that helped take care of mama through this journey:  Abbie, Pat, Judy, Debbie, Shirley, Mildred, Sam and our church family at Hall’s Memorial.  We know that God will surely bless you all. Also to Mary Ann and Cathy who were from Hospice.   1. Ruth will be deeply missed by everyone that ever had to chance of meeting her. I first-  met her many years ago when I first attended Carthage Church Of GOD with my dad. She was my Sunday school teacher, and I remember sitting beside her during the servic
