Ruth Dennis Saunders, 94, of 192 Sunset Hills Rd. went home to Jesus and loved ones on April 3, 2016. Ruth was born October 25, 1921 in Montgomery County. Ruth was the daughter of the late Randall and Ola Dennis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Belton Ray Saunders; son, Belton Ray Saunders, Jr.; brothers, Frank, Max, Reese and James Dennis; sisters, Ethel Blake and Bonnie Morris.

Ruth was a faithful member of the First Wesleyan Church in Robbins. She was employed by the Robbins textile mill and Southern Garment. Ruth is remembered for her cooking, love of growing flowers (gladiolas), and canning her vegetables. Loving God and family was her purpose in life.

Ruth is survived by: daughters Elizabeth Key and husband Gilbert of Robbins; Yvonne Miller and husband Barry of Galax, VA; Annette VonCannon and husband Chad of High Point; daughter-in-law Judy Saunders Stokes and husband Billy of Snead’s Ferry; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters Blanche Harris and husband Clayton, Marie Morris, Rebecca Dunn and husband Hughes, all of Troy; brothers Ira Dennis, Jesse Dennis and wife Mary Ellen, all of Troy.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 7 from 1:00-3:00 pm, with the service following at 3pm. Both services will be held at First Wesleyan Church in Robbins, NC, conducted by Rev. Sam Swinney, Rev. Wilson Harris, and Rev. Barry Miller. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Cemetery.
