Sarah Ann Barker, 46, passed away at Johnson City Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. 

A native of Ohio, she is the daughter of James John Barker Sr. and Nancy Irene Champe. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Murphy, her mother, and step-brother; Earl Farley. 

She is survived by her long-term partner, Victor Gillespie,  father James (Debbie) Barker Sr.; siblings James (Rosa) Barker Jr., Mike (Beth) Barker, Matt (Tracy) Barker, Dawn Barker, all of Columbus, OH,  Alisha (Sam) Gilliland of Carthage, NC, Seth (Brian) Barker, of Columbus, OH, and many nieces and nephews. 

Sarah was a member of Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed drawing signs for her front yard to encourage people to repent and know the love of Christ and sitting for hours listening to contemporary Christian music. 

Memorials may be made to any mental health charity or AA programs in your local area.

A memorial service will be held at Middleport Hills Cemetery on September 9, 2023, at 2 pm. 

Services are entrusted to Fry & Prickett Funeral Home.
