Donnie Shane Sanders, 29, of Eagle Springs, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Shane was born on November 11, 1991 to Donnie and Shirley Welch Sanders, in Moore County, NC.  He attended North Moore High School.  Shane was self employed, using his many talents, interior and exterior painting, carpentry and lawn care.  

His caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by everyone he met.  Shane loved the outdoors and the beauty that nature has to offer.  He was passionate about hunting and spent endless hours scouting before hunting season with his Dad and best friend, Donnie Sanders.  Shane loved to work in the garden with his grandfather Glen, where he gathered his knowledge of gardening and canning.  He also loved to plant beautiful flowers in his yard as well.  Shane always had a eye for antiques, mainly tractors, that he enjoyed sharing with others riding in parades. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Glen Louie Sanders and wife Cecil Garner Sanders, of Eagle Springs, NC; his maternal grandparents: Bernie Welch Jr., of Seagrove, NC and Barbara Jones Welch, of St Petersburg, FL.

Shane is survived by parents: Donnie and Shirley Welch Sanders; sisters: Dawn Hardy, Christie Blake, Lori Ritter; brothers: Jeffery Roberts, Kenny Welch, Matthew Sanders; nieces: Ashlynn Hardy, Courtney Ritter, Chloe Ritter, Haley Welch, Bailey Welch, Alexis Sanders; nephews: Owen Blake, Kenneth Welch and many friends.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, September 20, 2021 at Brown’s Chapel Christian Church.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM, Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Christie Blake.

Services are entrusted to Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins, NC.

  1. Donnie and Family, My prayers are with each of you during the difficult time. Shane was a good fellow and enjoyed life. He was a former student and a friend on Facebook. I will miss seeing his many photos of cooked meals and flowers he posted. God bless each of you.

  4. I didn’t know Shane but I knew part of his family. I am so sorry for the grief you are experiencing now. I encourage you to look to and lean heavily on the Lord during this sad time in your life. Read all the Bible but at this time read especially Psalm 23 and John 14. May God grant you comfort, help and strength which He alone can give!!!!! We will be praying for you all!!!
