Sheila Morris Barber, 76, of Carthage, NC gained her heavenly wings on February 17th surrounded by her family. 

Sheila was a wonderful mother, Nana, sister, and friend. Her children and grandchildren were her biggest blessings. She was a longtime member of Red Branch Baptist Church where she served and had many friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to others when anyone needed her and will be greatly missed. 

She was preceded in death by husbands Mack Barber and Jim Atkins, by her mother Alma Freeman, father Bedford Morris Sr, brother Bedford Morris, and son Rodney Barber. 

She is survived by a son, Keith Barber (Stephanie) of Knoxville, TN, daughter Sheith Davis (Greg) of Whispering Pines, grandchildren; Bennett, Laney, Brooks, and Ellie Kate Barber and Bryce, Jordyn, and Taylor Davis. As well as a sister, Cathy McKenzie (Richard) of Carthage. 

Family will receive friends and family at Red Branch Baptist Church in Carthage, on Tuesday February 20th from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be at Red Branch Baptist Church on Wednesday February 21st at 11am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

  4. Aunt Sheila was the sweetest person! She never left me without a hug. She was genuinely kind and caring. I wil never forget how loved you always made me feel! I know Heaven is a lot sweeter with you there.
