Shirley Hinsley Vest, age 74, of 220 Vest Lane, West End died Thursday (October 15, 2009) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Gillis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Wake County she was the daughter of the late Rex Lacy Hinsley and Eunice Mitchell Hinsley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Lee Vest. She worked as a machinist at Epic Enterprise in Southern Pine until she retired at the age of 72.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Morgan and husband, James of West End; sons, Robert Vest and wife, Christine of Carthage and Junior Vest and wife, Gwen of Carthage; sisters Linda Hinsley of Garner, Virginia Mills and Nancy Huey both of Charlotte, Darlene Coats of Ft. Fisher, Jackie Hendricks of Cary; brothers Johnny and Ronald Hinsley both of New Hill; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Fairview Baptist Church Youth Building on Friday from 6:00-8:00 pm and other times at the residence.
