Shirley Needham Tyner, age 73 formerly of Carthage died Sunday (December 29, 2013) at the residence of her daughter in Bear Creek following a short illness.
A funeral service will be held at the home, 11011 Siler City-Glendon Road, on Thursday at 11:00 AM. A graveside committal will be 2:00 PM at Pinebluff Cemetery.
A native of Moore County, she was a daughter of the late William Medley and Emma Irene Bennett Needham. A 1959 graduate graduate of Carthage High School she attended Sanford Business School and worked for Carthage Fabrics early in life. She later worked several years with the Moore County Tax Administration. She also worked several years with Arthur Rowe, Attorney at Law.
She was preceded in death by: her husband Lee Allen Tyner, Jr.; three brothers Alton, Bill, Joseph and a sister Edith.
She is survived by: her daughter Dawn Persons and husband Scott of Bear Creek, Robbie Tyner and girlfriend Angie of Carthage; granddaughter Emma Sue Tyner of Carthage.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and other times at the residence of Dawn and Scott Persons, 11011 Siler City-Glendon Rd, Bear Creek.
