Guestbook

  1. Sue was a genuinely sweet person. She loved God, and lived her faith every moment. She gave lovingly and unstintingly to her family, church, and community. If someone needed help or had a sorrow, Sue was there. She defined thoughtfulness. She was so very good to me over the years, taking me out to eat and to shop, and bringing me homecooked and homebaked treats. The last time she came by, only a couple of weeks ago, she brought fresh strawberries. Her passing leaves many sad and heartbroken; but it is for sure that no one was more prepared to meet their Maker than Sue. I thank God for the gift of her friendship. My heart goes out to her family during this very difficult time. Much love, Herminia Blue (and daughter Ann)

  2. Praying for The Rice Family during this difficult time. You will be missed dearly Mrs.Sue. God needed A Baker and you were the perfect candidate.
    Heaven has gain an angel.

  4. Sue was always the same person, always thinking of others, and helping someone. May God wrap you in his loving arms and comfort you during your loss, remembering you will be together again.

  5. Sue was a great person, a kind and generous Christian lady, an Elder of the church, whose faith was revealed in many ways of helping a lot of people in the community. The church will live stream her funeral using Zoom meeting ID 333 971 9568, passcode 1220, Noon.
Walter Smith, Cypress Springs Presbyterian Church.

  6. Mrs. Rice was such a sweet lady. She always had a smile and a kind word. My thoughts and prayers are with Larry, Mark, Billy and the rest of the family.

  7. The Vass-Lakeview Alumni Association extends our deepest sympathy to the family during this difficult time. Sue was an important part of the VL alumni association and over the many years, she served as an officer in every position there was. Sue loved the kids of Vass-Lakeview and made a difference in many students lives. She served as a role model and influenced many students along her journey. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family in the coming days, weeks and months.

  8. Heaven has gained an Angel, and I am so sorry for your loss. Sue was such a kind and giving soul. She was loved and will be missed by many.

  9. Very sad to hear the news of Sue’s passing.. She was such a kind beautiful woman who always had a smile on her face. Sue is now with the Lord but her smile will be missed by many. Condolences to the Rice family

  10. I met Sue many years ago through a mutual friend and her Vass-Lakeview coworker Cheri. Sue made me feel welcome right away. The thing I remember most was her ready smile and sunny disposition. I am saddened to hear of her passing.

  11. Larry, Mark, and Billy,
We’re so saddened hearing of this great loss. Sue was such a wonderful wife, mother, teacher, friend and a joy for everyone. When I think back to the wonderful time each of us have shared I can only think we’ve been so blessed. Time with Sue for Brenda was a special treat at Vass-Lakeview and for us all. And Larry, I cherish my time with you at Union Pines and my time with Mark and Billy on court number one with both going over a hundred wins and winning numerous championships, notably the 1982 sectional title. Unforgettable. Our love and prayers for everyone.
John, Brenda and Jane and Jay
