Texie Iddings Price, 87, of 463 Calvin Road, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at First Health Moore Reginold Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 27, 2009 at High Falls United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ken Buckingham and the Rev. Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins.
Mrs. Price was a native of Stanly County. She was a graduate of Elise Academy where she was valedictorian of her class. During World War II she worked for the Civil Service at the Naval Shipyard in Charleston, South Carolina. She married Farroll Price in 1946, then they returned to High Falls where they raised their family. She had a beautiful alto voice. She sang in the church choir. She loved flowers and gardening. She was very giving to the youth group and widows of her church. She enjoyed bingo and church services at the nursing home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mary Iddings, husband, Farroll Price, brothers, Dallas, Hoyte and Jake Greene, and Harold Harrison, sister, Ruby Egan.
Surviving are:
Daughters: Annetta Scott and husband Darrell of Bear Creek; Martha McNames and husband Dennis of Winston-Salem; Orpha Fox and husband Louis of High Falls
Sister: Mittie Seawell of Carthage

3 great-grandchildren
A host of nieces and nephews
Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Thursday, February 26 at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins. At all other times at the home of her daughter, Annetta Scott, 7901 NC Highway 42, Bear Creek.
