Thelma Clayton Lewis, age 90 of Southern Pines Gracious Living Center and formerly of Eagle Springs died Monday (June 27, 2011) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Bensalem Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Wes Brandon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Following the service the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall.
Born June 28, 1920 in Person County she was a daughter of the late Robert Wiley and Mildred Tingen Clayton and was a homemaker. She was a member and past elder of Bensalem Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Presbyterian Women. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Lewis, Sr. who died in December 25, 1986 and an infant son Earl Lewis, Jr.
She is survived by: sons Tom Lewis and wife Frances of Atlantic Beach, Harry Lewis and wife Debbie of Carthage; daughters Karen Moyer and husband Jack of Spartanburg, SC, Sandra Schwab and husband Skip of Bluffton, SC; brothers Harold Clayton of Pinehurst, James Clayton and wife Marie of Pinehurst; sister Wilma Money and husband Aceil of Sanford; grandchildren Scott Lewis and wife Amy, Michael Lewis, Allen Lewis and wife Kristin and Clay Lewis, Dillon Moyer and Lewis Moyer; great-grandchildren Dauer, Ben, Andrew, Morgan and Elizabeth Lewis.
