Thomas Edward Arthur, age 71, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, January 10, 2022. Born in Pennsylvania, he was the son of Glenn Neal and Violet Virginia (Hall) Arthur. 

He was a graduate of Foundations Bible College in Dunn, North Carolina. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in both Music and Theology and became an ordained minister. He enjoyed playing the trumpet and singing in quartets. He and his wife, Tamera, of twenty years, were active members of Yates-Thagard Baptist church.

Tom loved the Lord and his church family. He treasured his time with Tamera, his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tamera; his children, Trenda Rene Lowry (Brian), Terrah Lee Carawan (Jonathan), Thomas Andrew Arthur (Jenni), Teresah Arthur, Timothy Edward Arthur (Valerie), step-children Ryan Sanders, Shana Kearns (Daniel); and his sister Donna Sue Arthur and brother William Russell Hall: and dearly missed by his sixteen grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at the Yates-Thagard Baptist Church on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 2 pm with a committal service to follow at the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 pm,  at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

  7. Tammy, we feel so blessed to have known Tom and worship together with him. I enjoyed playing the piano for him to sing, especially “Under His Wings” both at church and the retirement homes. He served his Lord faithfully. Our love, prayers and sympathy to you and all the family
