Rev. Thomas Farrell Hussey

Reverend Thomas Farrell Hussey, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on July 8, 1944, to Winferd and Beulah Hussey. He spent 38 years in the ministry and 50 years as a Hairstylist. He was also a black belt in Martial Arts.
Thomas Farrell was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, pastor, and friend. He will be lovingly remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Thomas had a gift for sharing the Scriptures and never hesitated to speak about his faith with those he encountered. His love for the Lord was an important part of who he was and the legacy he leaves behind.
His last call from God in the Ministry was to return to his home church, Smyrna. He served Smyrna faithfully for three years during a time of transition. The members will remember him for his steadfast commitment to service and love. Thomas was a Servant of God and loved Jesus with all his heart. He wanted everyone to come to know Jesus.
Thomas also found great joy in the simple things that made him happy, especially spending time with family, playing golf, and his lifelong love of Corvettes.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Billy Hussey, Bobby Hussey, and baby sister, Joan Hussey.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 63 years Elizabeth McNeill Hussey, daughters Lisa Norman (James), Leslie Lamendola (Pete); grandchildren Lauren Annas (Dan), Robert Norman (Meredith), Abbey Mayhew (Nick), Olivia Follas (Seaver); great grandchildren: Avery, Ellison, Carter, Hampton, Charlee, soon to be Baby Mayhew; sisters Mildred Brewer, Louise Clark; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Smyrna Church, with Pastor Edwin Moore and Dr. John Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Smyrna Youth Fellowship or Smyrna Church Cemetery Fund, 203 Smyrna Church Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
He will be deeply missed and loved by all who knew him.

I remember uncle Farrell driving up to Grandma’s house on Sunday afternoon in his current Corvette, and watching him, Elizabeth, Lisa, and Leslie somehow all unfold and get out:-) You will be greatly missed, rest in God’s peace uncle Farrell.
I met Tommy many years ago when he cut my hair. We became very good friends and I invited him and Elizabeth to our church. That was the beginning of a great Christian adventure. He started a quartet and sung with Elizabeth and my brother Allan. It wasn’t long after that he committed his life to Christ. I had the privilege of seeing him ordained in our church. Over the years we played a lot of golf together and shared a lot of good times. It’s been a pleasure seeing his preaching career bloom and I was excited to see him @ Smyrna, his old home church, I knew he was home and was happy for him and all the church members.
I will truly miss him but know that I will see him again one day.
