Tildon Franklin Evans, Sr., 82, of Carthage passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Eureka Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 6 PM- 8 PM on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage.
Tildon moved to Moore County in 1957 from Yadkin County and retired from tobacco farming. He served as an elder, deacon, and trustee at Eurkea Presbyterian Church. Tildon was a lifetime member of the Whispering Pines Rescue Squad and a former Captain. He is preceded in death by brothers, Roger Evans and Wayne Evans.
Surviving is his spouse of 61 years, Vivian Prim Evans; sons, T. Frank Evans, Jr. and wife Debbie of Carthage, Dan S. Evans and wife, Pam of Carthage; sisters, Betty Nicks, Brenda Hudson, and Gaye Swisher all of Yadkin County; brothers, Harold Evans and Ray Evans both of Yadkin County; grandchildren, Lisa Evans Neal, Jennifer Evans Moore, and Daniel Evans, and great grandchildren, Jay and Avery Neal.
