Tommy Darrell Kennedy 73 died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC.

The family will receive friends at Kennedy Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday and other times at the home.

A native of Moore County and a son of the late Ernest and Mary Garner Kennedy, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Kennedy.

Tommy was the owner of Westmoore Family Restaurant, Tommy’s Grocery, Tommy’s Crown and various other businesses. He loved his family and traveling with his wife, Shirley.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 53 years Shirley; son: Gary Kennedy and wife Lisa of Seagrove;  daughter Tammy Morrison and husband John of Robbins; grandchildren: Brittany Ryder and husband Chris, of Vass, Lindsay Kennedy, of Seagrove, Dustin and Cameron Morrison, of Robbins, great-granddaughter: Tanner Kennedy, of Seagrove; sisters: Marjorie McNeill and husband Raeford, Marie Cagle and husband Robert, Lucille Moore and husband Gary, Carolyn Wicker and husband Doug; brothers: Ray Kennedy and wife Brenda, Roger Kennedy and wife Linda.

Memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374
