Treva Comer Purvis, 101, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 28, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Born in Scotland County, Treva was a native of Robbins.  She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.

Treva was a beautician for over 50 years and cherished all her friendships she made along the way.  She loved gardening, her flowers, sewing, and helping Robert build cabinets.  She enjoyed cooking for all her family and watching them eat.  She and Robert were long time members of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.  She cherished all her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly.

Treva was the daughter of the late Dossie and Ruth Davis Comer.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert Purvis, son, Johnnie Purvis, and eight siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Woodell and husband Tommy, son, Jeff Purvis and wife Bonnie, 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and a sister, Doris Lewis.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Vic Hill officiating.

  1. Aunt Treva you will be missed. I have a lot of fond memories including my elementary school days when you provided Patsy and I a warm place to wait for the school bus and sometimes taking us to school.

    Your work ethic was unmatched. I always admired you for that.

    I will always remember during the last couple years when I visited you and you just lite up when you saw me.

    I know you loved me and I loved you as well.

    You touched many lives!
