  14. Carole & I are so very sorry to hear of Vance’s passing. He became a very good friend to us during our years meeting on the beach at Cherry Grove. Back in July before we left, Vance & I re-booked our same houses for the week for the 4th of July 2021. When our two families meet again it will be without Vance in person but not in spirit. Life on earth has a strange way of bringing two friends and families together. Eternal life in heaven will bring us all together again soon. Rest easy my friend, we will meet again.

  15. I met Vance at Autumn Care when his Mother was there. He would always say hello when he passed my friends room. Sometimes he would come in and sit down and talk to us. In the short time I knew him, I could tell that he loved his Mother and his boys. I’m praying for your family. Vance was a great man!

  16. Prayers for all. Vance was such a sweet, kind, funny and caring person. He never met a stranger. He gained his Angel wings sooner than we thought. May God give everyone comfort and strength during this sad time. Till we meet again I’ll see you then my friend. Hugs and love. ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

  18. Having heard so many nice things about Vance, it was only recently that I had the pleasure of spending time in person. I knew Debbie was biased, but I found him to be as genuine, kind, friendly, and selfless as she had described him. Sending thoughts and prayers to each of you.

  19. Prayers for the boys and their families, Vance was a good person. He was always ready to do anything that needed to be done. My family was so appreciative for his friendship. Love and Prayers

  20. With Sympathy and Prayers 🙏 for all the family. So sorry for your loss. May God hold each of you especially close.

  21. Vance was a wonderful man and cousin. He was totally devoted to his sons and dedicated his life to raising them and making them the men they are. He served many years on the Robbins rescue and rode with myself and my babies when we were hit head on in 1990. He kept me awake as I had severe head injury and wanted to go to sleep. He was always at the North moore football games on the field helping out. What a great reward he must be reaping in heaven. Well done faithful servant. Till we meet over yonder❤️

  22. Reid, Ross, Ethan & Evan,
Your Uncle Gary and I want you to know how much we love you and how broken hearted we are over the loss of your Dad. Fathers are special and we know how very much you loved yours and how much losing him hurts! You and your families are in our prayers! We’re praying for comfort and that the many memories you have of him will bring you joy in the days to come.

  23. Dear Lambert family,
In the days ahead you will hear many stories of a caring man that went out of his way to do good deeds for his family, friends, and community. You call him Dad. Vance was devoted to helping others in whatever way he could. He was kind and caring to everyone regardless of who they were. He rescued me one time too! Dale and I hadn’t been married long and I knew very few people in the neighborhood, but Vance showed his kindness to me one day along 220 bypass going to Greensboro. I run out of gas and was deserted. He recognized the Jeep and turned around to offer help. Boy was I glad to see him! No doubt he rescued many other people just like he did on this day. I hope all these stories that people share of his goodness will bring a laugh and a tear, bless your heart, and give you comfort.
We are so sorry for your loss and pray that you will feel the presence of the Lord as He gives you comfort, strength, and grace in the days ahead.
    Love, Dale and Debbie Hussey

  24. Although we didn’t see each other often, Vance always made it seem like yesterday. Every year, I looked forward to seeing his big smile at Farmer’s Day flipping burgers for the Rescue Squad. I will always cherish our memories of hanging out at Frank and Edna’s store competing in ping pong and pool and playing football with Gary and Randy. He was one of those people who made the world a better place. He will be missed.
We are so sorry for the loss of your father and hope that in time, your memories will bring you comfort and ease your grief.
