Versie Venable Marsh, age 97, died Friday at her home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Monday at Red Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott McInnis and the Rev. D. C. Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Surry County, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Anderson Venable and Minnie Simpson Venable. She worked for Sanford Furniture as a finisher and also along with her husband who owned and operated Marsh Groceries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Marsh.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Dix and husband, Jesse of Wade, Carol Loving of Cameron, Marie Johnson & husband Wayne, of Cameron and Inez Butner of Sanford; nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 PM on Sunday at Red Branch Baptist Church.
Fry & Prickett Funeral Home is serving the Marsh Family.
Carol, I am so sorry about your mom. It has been a struggle for her and now she is at peace. I am praying for you. God bless you and your fsmily.

I was sorry to hear about Miss Versie passing this world, but happy to know she is with the Lord. I am Ada Holder’s Granddaughter, Susan. I am Inez’s Daughter. I always loved Versie. She was so sweet and kind to me. Praying for the family and friends. Sus
