Virgilio Vincent, 83, died October 29, 2013 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at 12 pm-1:30pm Saturday November 2, 2013 at Powell Funeral Home and Crematory in Southern Pines NC. A private family service will be held at the graveside following the visitation.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Lena Jane Howard Vincent and his parents Celeste Gonsalves Vincente and his father Virgilio Vincente Sr.
Virgilio (Vince) was born in Philadelphia PA after his parents immigrated from Portugal to the United States. He was an aviator and for 35 years an Aviation Specialist for the Department of Defense He additionally served four years in the United States Air Force.

Vince was a kind gentle soul with charm and the ability to draw others in and to him. He spent his retirement years fishing, gardening, and loving his grandchildren. But Vince's true passion was flying. This is reflected by a plaque prominently displayed in his home that read: 'Time spent flying is not deducted from one's lifespan.'

He is survived by four daughters; Kathleen Vincent and husband Al Simmons of Carthage NC, Shelli Vincent and spouse William Rocchi of Pinehurst. Kelli Vincent Peasley and husband Mark Peasley of Fredericksburg VA , and Barbara Vincent Bishop. He has one son, Keith Vincent and wife Judy Vincent of Huntsville Alabama. Vince is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Laura Jane Vincent, Vincent Peasley, Isabella Peasley, Aydin Peasley, Johnny Bishop, Kevin Bishop, and Courtney Bishop.

Vince will be missed greatly by those who love him. Memorials may be made to First Health Hospice and Palliative Care. 251 Campground Rd Pinehurst NC.
