Virginia Mae Bruce

Virginia Mae Brown Bruce. 100, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Pine Rest Cemetery, with the Reverend Vic Hill, Pastor David Brown and Pastor Greg Allison officiating.  The family will receive friends Prior to the service beginning at 10 AM at Kennedy Funeral Home.

Virginia was born October 8, 1923 to the late Archie and Nettie Kennedy Brown.  She was a graduate of Elise High School. She retired from Milliken Industries, after over 40 years of service.  Virginia enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, shopping, quilting, knitting, sewing and crocheting.   The family and friends remember her persimmon pudding and sweet pickles. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Virginia was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and enjoyed time spent with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, James A. Bruce, Sr. and siblings: Roy Brown, Douglas Brown, Essie Horne, Harold Brown, Lacey Brown.

Virginia is survived by son: James A. “Jimmy” Bruce Jr.; grandsons: Jay Bruce and wife Kim, Jonathan Bruce; great grandchildren: Katie  Bruce, Maggie Bruce; many nieces, nephews and friends.
