Virginia Dare Nall Hussey, 89, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012, at FirstHealth Hospice House near Pinehurst, NC, surrounded by her family.
The funeral will be held Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at High Falls Wesleyan Church with Rev. Jamie Sink and Rev. Roger Riffe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was born April 20, 1923, the daughter of John Clyde and Clara Mae Davis Nall and was a life-long resident of Moore County. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was a talented quilter, loved her flowers and her vegetable gardens and was a wonderful cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Burlin Hussey, her brother, John Ralph Nall and three grandchildren, William Nathan, Anna Dare and David Lee Martindale.
She is survived by one son and his wife; Jackie and Brenda Hussey of Putnam, NC, three daughters and their husbands; Joyce and Jimmie Hogan of Biscoe, NC, Jeannette and Bill Martindale of Putnam, NC, and Brenda and Luther Green of Putnam, NC, a sister and her husband; Ida Ruth and Joe Whiteside of Salem, SC, a half-sister and her husband; Lorraine and Clayton Moore of Putnam, NC, one very special aunt: Frances Cheek of Robbins, NC, two brothers in law; Kenny Hussey and Darrell Upchurch of Highfalls, NC, a sister in law; Ometa Brooks of Bear Creek, NC; ten grandchildren, Teresa, Alan Brian, Sharon, Karen, Melissa, Sonia, Tonia, Jackie Wayne and Amy; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, NC and other times at 'Granny's House'.
