Wallace Reid Edwards, age 85, passed away on Friday, July, 28, 2017 at St Joseph of the Pines, surrounded by his family.

Wallace was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and a native of South Carolina.  He will be forever remembered for his warm, sweet nature and compassionate, gentle spirit. He always open-minded and welcoming towards others, making those around him always feel at ease. He was naturally selfless and kind, and his faith was apparent in all that he did.

He loved the Lord, his family and his church. He served Robbins First Baptist Church as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and in many other ways. Throughout his life, family came first, and he was loved and respected by his family.  He and his wife, Bobbi, had a deep love for each other for 65 years. He spent as much time with family as he could, and nothing filled him with more joy than being surrounded by his wife, siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family was everything to him.

Wallace also worked tirelessly throughout his life. He had a long career of over 36 years, with Milliken, Inc. He attended night school to become an Industrial Engineer with Milliken and rose all the way to Plant Manager before he retired. Wallace then started his own Textile Consulting Firm, where he assisted plants across the country in effective practices. He never stopped wanting to make things better.

He was a son of the late James Hoyt and Irene Reid Edwards and was preceded in death by grandson Wade Edwards.

Wallace is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Catherine “Bobbi”, of the home; sons: John Edwards, of Chapel Hill, Blake Edwards, of Fuquay Varina; daughter: Kathy Frankel and husband Steve, of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren: Cate Edwards and husband Dr. Trevor Upham, Dr. Michael Taylor and wife Shannon, Julianne Taylor, Patricia Edwards, Emma Claire Edwards, Jack Edwards, Quinn Hunter, Adam Frankel; great grandchildren: Sophia and Wayland Taylor, and Wade Upham; brothers: James Hoyt Edwards, Carl Edwards, Dale Edwards, Gerald Edwards.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Robbins First Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Reverend Danny Meeze and Reverend Kenneth McNeill officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date in Oconee Memorial Gardens, Seneca, SC.

Memorial can be made to the Robbins First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 400, Robbins, NC 27325.

I am a mother of two boys, James 6 years old and Lucas 2 years old. I Just wanted to get your opinion on something – I was just reading this review of an online child reading system over at http://bit.ly/38vxhf4 and that woman reviewing this system shows a 18 month child reading like 5 years old. I Would love to know what you think about it and what you think about this system she review..are you familiar with it? Thanks in advance! Can’t wait to hear your reply as I’m thinking about giving a try the system she recommends. My kids are my life and I want to provide them a better future.
