Walter H. Oldham, age 73 of 180 Walter Oldham Road died Saturday (March 14, 2009) at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Cool Springs United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. William Cashion. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late Henry Blaine and Bessie Jane Maness Oldham. He graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury and early in his life sold Caterpillar bulldozers. He later worked as a private bulldozer operator. Later he began farming where he spent his time raising cattle and chickens. He was preceded in death by a brother James Harvey Oldham and loved his two dogs Macy and Mattie.
He is survived by: his wife Chris R. Oldham; daughters Sandy Johnson and husband Rufus, Jr. of Siler City, Lisa Oldham of Aberdeen; sister Wilsie Dalton and husband James of Blackstone, VA; brothers Tommie Oldham and wife Faye of Robbins, Charlie Oldham of Bear Creek, Russell Oldham and wife Janice of Siler City; sister-in-law Ruth Oldham of Bennett.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home, Sunday from 7:00 —9:00 PM and other times at the residence.
