Warren G Cockman, age 82 of J. Dowdy Rd., died Saturday (December 22, 2007) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday (Dec. 27,2007) at Calvary Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Brad Dickerson, Pastor Fred Richardson and Pastor Don Daniels. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, he was a son of the late Walston and Minnie Belle Needham Cockman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Pauline Atkins Doby Cockman. He retired from J. P. Stevens Co. in Aberdeen and was a farmer. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, he had served as a deacon and a trustee.
"He was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed and remembered by many. He loved God, his family and his church family at Calvary Baptist Church" said a family member
He is survived by: wife Darlene Moore Cockman; three daughters Doris Tyner and Joyce Tadlock both of Carthage and Carol Sue Pennington of Seven Lakes; a son Warren G. Cockman, Jr. of Carthage; a sister Ruby Mae Brown of Carthage; two brothers Harold Cockman and Felton Cockman both of Carthage; step sons Russell Doby of Sanford, the Rev. Andy Maness of Laurel Hill, and Jerry Maness of Carthage; thirteen grandchildren three step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 —8:00 P. M. Wednesday at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home
