Wayne Clifford Sheffield, 68, died Wednesday May 21, 2014 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC.

 

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Browns Chapel Christian Church, with the Reverend  James Valk and Reverend Edwin Moore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Wayne was a native of Moore County.  He loved to attend auction sales, vegetable gardening, hunting and fishing. The thing that he loved most was spending time with his grandchildren. He worked for many years in the poultry industry.  Wayne attended Franklinville Wesleyan Church.

 

Wayne was a son of the late Janie Brewer Sheffield.  He was preceded in death by son: James C. Sheffield; brother: Floyd Sheffield and sister: Ruby Garner.

 

Wayne is survived by his wife of  48 years, Linda Helms Sheffield, daughters: Tammy Sheffield, of the home, Tina Cole and husband Scott, of Franklinville, Pamela Morgan and husband Michael, of Star;  brother: Johnny Sheffield, sisters: Pearl Cockman, Joann Valk; grandchildren: Hayley Cole, Emma Morgan and Brayden Morgan..

 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at  Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Michael and Pamela Morgan, 316 Wilbert Road, Star, NC.

 

Memorial may be made to FirstHealth Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374 and Franklinville Wesleyan Church, 225 Allred Street, Franklinville, NC 27248.
