Wendy Louise Gilhousen, age 46, died on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

Born on July 22, 1975, in Moore County, NC, she was a daughter of Dale and Deborah Mabe Gilhousen.

Wendy graduated from Pinecrest High School class of 1993 and went on to obtain an Associate’s Degree from Sandhills Community College.

Wendy was preceded in death by her grandparents: Joyce Mabe, Mary Sprankle and James Sprankle. 

She is survived by her parents: Dale and Deborah Gilhousen of West End; sister: Penny Haywood and husband Joey of West End; nieces: Annabelle Haywood, Ivey Haywood; nephew: Matthew Haywood; many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 7th, 2021 at Doubs Chapel United Methodist Church at 2 PM with Pastor Trevor Blair officiating. A public viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.

  3. I am so sorry to hear this she was a very friend of mine while she lived in Habersham. She helped me at a bad time in my life I know she’s in heaven now but it’s just so sad. The last time I talked with her she told me she had a good man now and she was happy. And she loved her family so much. I am so sorry for ya’lls Loss she was a wonderful lady she will be missed.   4. Wendy was a part of our family for many years during her relationship with my brother and afterwards. She had a heart of gold and we shared many telephone conversations throughout the years. Lots of good times and laughs shared. Wendy, you will be missed! My heart breaks for the family and will be in my prayers in the days to come.

  8. Whew this was a tough one to hear about for sure. I’m still in shock. Wendy girl, my friend, my sister. Pooh. I can’t believe you’re gone. Thank you for the many years of fond memories. Me, you, and Eddie were like 3 peas in a pod. We go through life only really having a hand full of true friends. You were one of them. You will be missed and not forgotten that’s for sure. I still have my picture of the Cross you gave me many years ago proudly displayed in my bookcase in the living room. I love you girl. You will always have a special place in my heart forever. May God Bless Wendy’s family and place His hedge of protection around them during this time. May He give everyone comfort and strength. As Jesus says in Matthew 5:4, Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Thank you Wendy for everything. It was such a blessing knowing you.
