Willard R. 'Bill' Dunlop, Sr., age 84 died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 in Pinehurst, NC.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, July 30 at Union Presbyterian Church on Union Church Road in Carthage, NC. Rev. William A. Stewart, Jr. and the Rev. Lee McKinney will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery with military honors.

Born in Sanford, Bill was the son of the late Willard Lincoln Dunlop and Aileen Terry Dunlop of Pinehurst. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Emaline Lewis Dunlop. He was a veteran of the US Navy and the US Army National Guard with a total of 31 years of service. After his service in the military, he worked as a Rural Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service in West End, NC.

He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Dunlop Ensign & husband, Chester of Pinehurst, NC; son, Willard R. 'Bill' Dunlop, Jr. & wife, Rebecca of Seven Lakes, NC; daughter, Lynn Paige Freeze of Archdale, NC; daughter, Susan Dunlop Hurley & husband, Stephen of Smyrna, GA; and son, Richard L. Dunlop & wife, Beverly of Carthage, NC. He had eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on July 29.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association, American Heart Association, or Union Presbyterian Church.
