William Baade, age 75 of 140 Crimson Court died Saturday (April 26, 2008) at Duke University Hospital in Durham.
Services will be held at later date in Vermont.
A native of Long Island, NY he was a son of the late Kurt Richard Baade and Wilhelmina Jacobs Baade. He was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He lived in Vermont for 47 years and worked as a building contractor. While in Vermont he was very active, serving on the Fairlee Fire Department as Lieutenant, the Fairlee school board and he was very active in the Boy Scouts for many years. He was also active in the BPO Elks, DAV, American Legion and VFW. He moved to Moore County six years ago after retiring.
He is survived by: his wife of 52 years Helen Debus Baade; daughter Wendy Barry of Pinehurst; sons Thomas Baade of Palmetto, FL and Christopher Baade of Kansas; brother Richard "Dick" Baade of Mifflintown, PA; grandchildren Katie, Tiffany, Mina, Richard, Ben and William; great-grandchildren Nick, Kylee, Faith, Natalie.
