William Felt Cockman, age 72 of J. Dowdy Road died Wednesday (October 14, 2009) at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church multi purpose building. The Rev. Gregg Newton will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service begining at 2:00 PM in the multi purpose building at the church and other times at the residence.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the Walston Cockman and Minnie Belle Needham Cockman. He was retired from Moore County Solid Waste Recycling Center in Eagle Springs. He was known by most people as the "bicycle man," where he would often be seen on the road side selling bicycles of all kinds.
He is survived by: his wife of nearly 50 years Ilene Williams Cockman; daughters Katrina C. Burns and husband Randall of Carthage, Julia C. Stewart and husband Randall of Robbins; son Keith Cockman and wife Cathy of Carthage; sister Ruby C. Brown of Carthage; five grandchildren.

I am very sorry to hear about your husband/dad. It was just only less than two weeks ago that Beverly said she had spoke with him. Life is so short and one knows what will be tomorrow. My prayer are with each of you. Love, Tootie
