William “Harold” Chalflinch 76, went home to be with the Lord on Christmas night (12/25/17) at his home, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Reverend Eldon Hinegardner and Reverend William “Bill” Cooper officiating.  Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Harold served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Perdue Farms, where he was a truck driver and later vaccinated chickens.  He was a devoted family man, who loved the Lord and his church.  Harold enjoyed being involved in his church, serving in many positions: Deacon for 27 years, Sunday School teacher and Cemetery committee. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; J R and Gertrude Brown Chalflinch; brother: Johnny Way Chalflinch.

Harold is survived by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis Steck Chalflinch; daughter: Elizabeth Chalflinch Monroe and husband Charlie, of Robbins,; sons: James Anthony “Tony” Chalflinch and wife Patty, of Robbins, Jeffrey Chalflinch, of Robbins, David “Wayne” Chalflinch, of Robbins, daughter: Jennifer Chalflinch Parsons, of Star, 17 grandchildren;  11 great grandchildren; brothers; Farrell Chalflinch and wife Jean, of Wallace, SC, Sammy Chalflinch and wife Kathy, of Goodview, VA, Jimmy Chalflinch, of Carthage; sisters: Emma Carol Sweet and Wilma McNeill, of Robbins, Velma Mae Moore, of Troy, many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Kennedy Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 548 Marley Road, Robbins, NC 27325.

  2. I just want to tell Harold’s family that I know he got the ultimate Christmas gift, to see Jesus face to face!! Harold was always a gentleman and good friend to Arthur and I, and we will miss him dearly!! May God comfort the family in only the way He can.
