William J Maness, Sr.. age 83, of 541 Niagara Carthage Road, died Friday (8/14/2009) at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday (8/16/2009) at 3:00 PM at Trinity Bible Church with the Rev. Max Williams and the Rev. L. C. Muse officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late Edward and Zula Williams Maness. He was a World War II Navy veteran, was employed by Carthage Fabrics for 27 years and was a retired tobacco farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Peele Maness and a grand daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Maness.
He is survivied by a son, Rev. Dr. William J Maness, Jr. & wife, Jayrene of Carthage; two daughters, Kay Boroughs & husband, Duke of Carthage; Maggie Craft & husband, David of Carthage; a sister, Maxine Vest of Carthage; four grandchildren, William Jeffrey Smithers, Duke Lee Boroughs, III, Rebecca Boroughs and Anna Maness.
The family will recieve friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Saturday (8/15/2009) at Trinity Bible Church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Bible Church, PO Box 1116, Carthage, NC 28327.
