Zachary David Laird, 41, of Carthage, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 11, 1983, to the late Thomas Edgar Laird and Natalie Broom Coe; in addition to his father, Zachary was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tex and Claudine Laird, and maternal-grandfather, Thomas Broom.  When family and friends remember Zachary, they recall an individual that was the life of the party.  His smile could light up the room and his hugs were unforgettable.  Zachary was a talented craftsman and carpenter, who used skills to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  He will forever be remembered in the hearts and minds of his family.

Zachary is survived by his mother Natalie Coe, and his stepfather, Mike, of Carthage; his maternal grandmother, Carol Broom, of Pinebluff; sister, Rachel Laird Thomasson and her husband, Zachary, of Carthage; three brothers, Thomas “Tony” Laird, of Jacksonville, Florida, Adam Cook and his wife, Micha, of High Falls, and Joseph Cook, of Pinebluff; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home, 402 Saunders Street, Carthage, NC 28327.

Zach was an amazing man he ment Alot to Alot of people he’s definitely gonna be missed god will welcome him with open arms he was a wonderful friend and a kind person he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was very funny and had a Great laugh that’s gonna be missed as well Rest In peace Zachary until we meet again

I did not know you as a child, but all those fishing stories and fun family time we shared at Jordan Lake were so special.
