Betty Lee Frye

Betty Hooker Frye, 84, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Betty was born in Moore County on October 19, 1938 to the late Alfred Norman Hooker, Sr. and Bertha Nall Hooker. She was a graduate of Elise High School.  Betty worked in textiles, at Key Packing and as a home health aid in the community.  She was a faithful member of Unity Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed gospel singing, especially the old hymns.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Frye: sisters: Eva Jane Hooker and Libby Hooker Welch, brother: Alfred Norman Hooker, Jr. 

Betty is survived by sister: Linda Jacobs, of Carthage; brother: Jerry Hooker and wife Doris, of Seagrove; and many friends. 

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Unity Grove Baptist Church with the Pastor Jason Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
