Doris Coe Sullivan, age 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023, surrounded by family at the First Health Hospice House.

Doris was born on June 20, 1926, in Rockingham County, NC. She was one of 15 children of the late Marvin Daniel and Pearl Capps Daniel. 

She is predeceased by her first husband of 50 years, Paul Coe, her second husband of 15 years, Reverend D.C. Sullivan, granddaughter Emily Coe, great-grandson Braylon Willett, son-in-law Donald Spencer, and 12 of her siblings.

Doris is survived by her four children: Tim Coe (Donna) of Seven Lakes, NC, Mary Stanley (Michael) of Carthage, NC, Frances Walters (Chuck) of Vass, NC, and Elaine Spencer of Wilmington, NC, Her sisters, Pat Kirby of Sanford, NC, and Edith Slawson of Kannapolis, NC. She will be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Doris worked as a seamstress for over 30 years at W. Koury Company. Some of her favorite hobbies included knitting and crocheting. She was also an amazing cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. Doris was an ideal example of a Christian woman who had a beautiful, kind and loving heart.

Friends and family are invited to attend the service on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 2pm at Red Branch Baptist Church in Carthage, NC, with the burial to follow at Pineywood Baptist Church Cemetery in Cameron, NC. Visitation at Red Branch Baptist Church begins at 1pm before the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be sent to Red Branch Baptist Church 1748 Old River Rd. Carthage, NC  28327
