Edith Shelburne

Edith Maynard McDanel Shelburne died on November 6, 2008. She was born September 21, 1912 in Jessup, Georgia, daughter of the late Maynard Sargent McDanel and Edith Little. Mrs. Shelburne lived in Milton, Florida, Wilmington, NC, and for the longest time in Richmond, Virginia, Raleigh, NC and Southern Pines, NC. She was a graduate of Westhampton College of the University of Richmond. Mrs. Shelburne was married to the late C. Daniel Shelburne. Mrs. Shelburne is survived by three sons and their wives, Dr. and Mrs. John Daniel Shelburne; Mr. and Mrs. Edward McDanel Shelburne; Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Maynard Shelburne; seven grandchildren, Mark Howard Shelburne, Brian Grady Shelburne, Kerri Allen Shelburne, Ashley Shelburne Demos, Blaire Shelburne Mathis, Laura McDanel Shelburne, and David Mathisen Shelburne; and one great grandchild, Sadie Grace Shelburne.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Penick Village. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Penick Village Endowment Fund, P. O. Box 2001, Southern Pines, NC 28388.
