Elise Williams Hancock, 87, of Robbins, NC died peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 16, 2025. 

She was born to Elmer and Flora Williams in Robbins, NC. She graduated from Westmoore High School where she was a standout basketball player. After raising her children, she became a teacher’s assistant for the Moore County School System and continued caring for children for almost 20 years before retiring. 

Elise is survived by her husband of 66 years, William, and her five children: Randy (Jill) of Asheboro, NC, Rita Hayes (Darren) of Raleigh, NC, Robin Melton (Mark) of Robbins, NC, Richard of Durham, NC and Ronald (Joy) of Cary, NC. She is survived by grandchildren  Lindsay Kopera (Patrick), Morgan Dewit (Ben), Chason Hancock (Katherine), Emily Ritter (Daniel), Madelyn Sande (Ryan), Jordan Hayes (Victoria), Mason Hancock, Eliza Hancock, Sydney Hancock, Raegan Hancock, Kendall Hancock, great grandchildren: Emma, Anna, Levi, Cassie, Claire, Max, Myra, Caroline, Remi, Brody, Will, Andy and Ava James. Also left behind are her siblings: Rufus Williams, Johnny Williams, Brenda Maness and Faye Lineberry and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

She was a dedicated member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Robbins, NC and supported her husband as the Pastor for 58 years. Elise “Nannie” wholeheartedly adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time spoiling them and giving them lots of treats. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, but mostly family gatherings. She was a very strong woman whose work ethic was an inspiration to her entire family and all who knew her.

 A memorial Service will be on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Flint Hill Baptist Church – 923 Flint Hill Church Road in Robbins, NC: Viewing in Church Sanctuary 2:00-2:45 pm with Funeral service at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall and at other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church, 923 Flint Hill Church Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
