James Nealie Brown, age 88 of Eagle Springs died Saturday at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Rock Hill Friends Church. Burial will follow with full military honors in Pine Rest Cemetery.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late James Wesley Brown and Katie Garner Brown. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and P.O.W. While in service he was stationed in Northern France and was a Squad Leader. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. After serving his country he married the late Onezima Bynum Brown. He was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Robbins VFW, enjoyed gardening, fishing and was a NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by; sisters Annie B. Spinks and Ellen B. Cockman; brothers Elsie Brown and Dan Brown.
He is survived by: daughter Patricia Jefferies and husband Bobby; son James 'Bruce' Brown and wife Debbie; sisters Pauline B. LeGrand, Kathleen B. LeGrand and husband Horace all of Eagle Springs; grandchildren Lisa J. Flinchum and husband Jeremy, Anthony Brown and wife Amy, and Amy K. Brown; great-grandson Landon Brown.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins and other times at the residence.
